How to Set Up Recurring Events

Step 1: Create Your Event
  1. Open The Shop Calendar app
  2. Click "Create Event"
  3. Fill in event details (title, time, description, etc.)
  4. Don't save yet - continue to step 2
Step 2: Set Recurrence Pattern
  1. Look for the "Recurring Event" option
  2. Choose your pattern:
    • Daily: Repeats every day or every X days
    • Weekly: Choose which days (Mon, Wed, Fri, etc.)
    • Monthly: Specific date or "First Monday", "Last Friday", etc.
    • Custom: Set your own pattern
  3. Set an end date or choose "Never" for indefinite recurrence
  4. Review the preview of future dates
Step 3: Save and Review
  1. Click "Save Event"
  2. All future occurrences are created automatically
  3. Check your calendar to see the full series

Example: Yoga Studio

Event: "Vinyasa Flow with Sarah"

Schedule: Every Monday and Wednesday at 6:00pm

Setup:

  • Recurrence: Weekly

Managing Your Recurring Events

✏️ Edit Single Occurrence

Need to change just one date? Edit that specific occurrence without affecting the rest of the series.

🔄 Edit Entire Series

Update the master event and all future occurrences will reflect the changes.

🗑️ Delete Single Date

Cancel one specific date (like holidays) without deleting the whole series.

Stop a recurring series at any time by setting a new end date.

How far in advance do recurring events get created?

Recurring events are generated for future dates based on your settings. The system creates events well in advance so your calendar is always up-to-date.

Can I edit just one occurrence without changing the whole series?

Yes! You can edit individual occurrences. For example, if your Tuesday class has a guest instructor one week, you can edit just that Tuesday.

What if I need to cancel one date in a recurring series?
